Collections The American Antiquarian Society aims to collect one example of everything printed in what was once British North America before the year (and a few collections extend through ), as well as select manuscripts.

The American Antiquarian Society General Catalog contains records for the Society's collections of books, pamphlets, manuscripts, newspapers, lithographs, and broadsides.

For information on the cataloging status of each collection, consult the individual collection descriptions. Academic Programs The American Antiquarian Society undertakes a variety of academic programs for constituencies including college undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral scholars.

All of these programs derive their focus and their strength from the collections in the Society's library and from the community of scholars, fellows, and staff that is centered around.

The American Antiquarian Society was founded in by the printer Isaiah Thomas and associates for the purpose of preserving the records of the American Revolution. The Society is today a major archive of materials for American History. The American Antiquarian Society hosts informal webinars on various aspects of its collections and their use.
